How to Attract Clients That Want

to Pay You More

Question? What do you splurge on and what do you look for a deal on?

In every market there are people willing to pay — at least — 5X more for a product/service. For example:

✔ Walmart Birkin knock-off purse $26.90 or a real Birkin Bag $11,000

✔ Flight from London, UK to NYC: economy $500 or business class $2300

In business you want to attract the clients/customers who are the splurgers. Here’s why: They spend more because they value your product/service more.

In this issue we’ll share:

  • What are people willing to pay more for?
  • What high-paying clients don't value
  • How to attract clients who value you more

Why Some Clients are Willing to Pay More

What makes people so willing to invest? They want some sort of transformation: a problem solved, a new way of living, or sometimes, just bragging rights.

You can provide that by going beyond just selling a service or product to creating a unique offer, also referred to as your "signature" way of doing things.

For example, a hotel room offers a place for you to sleep when you're away from home. And yet there are people willing to pay over $600 a night for a specific hotel, even though they could get one nearby for $150.

Why are they willing to pay more? It's not about a place to sleep. It's about a luxury experience, being pampered and by paying a higher price they can identify as a deluxe traveller. The $600 a night hotel has a unique offer that speaks to what their market desires.

Almost any business has the ability to create a unique offer, which is what high-paying clients are attracted to.

Your Unique Offer/Signature Program

A unique offer (sometimes called a signature program), is a distinctive offering that captures your approach, your expertise, or the particular way you deliver your product/service. Typically it's designed to solve a distinct problem or meet a specific need of your target audience.

Picture this scenario - you want to start doing more talks and presentations but are not a confident public speaker. You come across a signature program that promises to teach you how to present your ideas in a way that captivates others and makes them truly curious to hear what you have to say.

What makes this a unique offer?

  • the program mentioned above is offered by international speaker, Simon Sinek, so the approach will be delivered in his own personal style that reflects his unique personality, values and his brand.
  • The format is designed with a clear outcome in mind and delivered in a way that offers to transforms you into a captivating speaker.

All these things contribute to the "uniqueness" of the offering. No one else could do it in the exact same way and offer that specific outcome.

Once you pinpoint the outcome that makes your target market feel happier, fulfilled, makes their life simpler, or solves a problem that’s been plaguing them, they will want to pay well for that result and you can market it as your unique offer.

Why High-Paying Clients Don't Want

to Pay by the Hour

Until you have a unique offer you don't have a business...you have a job, and this is particularly true if you are selling your time by the hour.

High-paying clientele are looking for a transformation not a transaction.

People don't get jazzed about buying hours or sessions, they get jazzed about buying a new way of life, a new identity or a complete solution to their problem.

For most service professionals, helping clients acheive a transformation takes more than a single session or random sessions here and there.

To achieve transformations usually requires a commitment to the work and several interactions, sequenced in an optimal order.

For Example, if you take a few art classes, you might learn some cool painting techniques, but if you go to a year of art classes, you'll probably be able to call yourself an amateur Artist.

Financial Independence

When your business is based on transformations, instead of hourly billing, you'll no longer be held back financially by how many hours or days you can work.

Even if you bill $150/hour you'll have to work a lot more than if you were to bill $3000/day for a unique transformation for a client.

A unique offer is more valuable to your clients than a per hour process. Also you can train others in your business to create the outcome, therefore giving you the ability to step away from the business and still make a living, something you cannot do when you sell your time by the hour.

Note: For Simon Sineks program that teaches you to speak confidently...Simon isn't there teaching it, but it still delivers on his knowledge, style, brand and values and for some that is the value they will pay for.

How to Attract Clients Who Value You More

Here are just a few of the benefits of creating a unique offer that your clients will really desire and value.

Your Clients Will Value Your More - How would it feel knowing that when clients choose what you offer, they'll get the results you promised? When people have confidence in your offer they will be happy to pay you well for it. Bonus: they will be a joy to work with too!

Your Business Becomes Scalable - Ever dream of a day where you make money without having to work? Whether you train someone else in your system, write a book or create an app, a unique offer is the first step towards anything scalable.

You'll Be Seen as a Leader in Your Space - When you sell transformation versus transactions, more of your clients will sing your praises, you'll be more confident in your work, and you will stand out as one of the most trustworthy providers in your field.

When you create a unique way of getting your clients results, you'll have sustainable demand for your product/services without needing pushy sales methods, endless hours on social media, or years of awkward networking.

Simply put, creating a unique offer is a MUST DO for anyone wanting a profitable, sustainable, easy to market business.
